Born in New York City and shaped by two generations of women artists, Christine Knize grew
up surrounded by art. She studied at the Tyler School of Art (BFA) and the Rhode Island School
of Design (MFA), and spent three years in Italy and France, where the light and artistry of the
Renaissance left a lasting imprint on her work.
Christine’s creative path has always bridged painting and photography. In 1986, she moved to
Miami and built a decorative painting company that caught the eye of celebrities and designers
alike. Her meticulous hand can still be seen at the Biltmore Hotel, where she restored the
intricate painted finishes of its grand interiors. She also helped revive the spirit of Miami Beach’s
Art Deco hotels during their early restorations, blending history with craftsmanship.
Today, in her Jacksonville studio, Christine paints monumental orchids—lush, luminous, and
alive. Each canvas reflects a lifelong devotion to beauty, discipline, and the timeless
conversation between nature and art.
